Career
With a passion
for music and a burning desire to perform Shamaizadeh has redefined
dedication, perseverance and professionlism in the Iranian music
industry.
At the early age
of 13 Shamaizadeh played in a theatre orchestra in Esfahan, Iran.
After graduating from highschool he moved to Tehran for better
opportunities in the field of music.
Soon after
moving he began to make appearances in radio and television
programming. To gain exposure he began performing at local night
clubs which proved to be a positive step forward in reaching out to
the Iranian public.
In 1971 he began
his song writing journey and focused on what was most important to
him, creating beautiful melodies.
To date he has
composed a massive collection of over 600 songs, 150 of which were
hits. He
became the biggest hit making songwriter in Iran, writing the
biggest hits for the biggest artists. Most notably, he wrote the
most popular songs recorded by Iran's biggest pop star: "Googoosh".
Songs like the 1973 epic ballad "Jaddeh - road -" and 1974's "Kooh -
mountain -".
 He
also wrote hits for Dariush, Ebi, Mahasti, Shohreh, etc.
As a performer,
he started his own recording career in 1973 with the mega hit
"Mordaab - Maarsh -" which sold close to 100,000 copies.
 He continued with ground
breaking hit records like "Aghaaghi" from 1976. He was chosen the
most popular male performer in 1976 by the readers on the "Zan -e
Rooz" magazine.
During the 1979
revolution he left Iran and has since resided in the U.S. with his
family. He
has kept himself bussy releasing CD's of various styles. One example
is the ballad focused 1996 release "Last Rider" where he celebrates
freedom of expression. Another example is his festive party album
from 1997 "Flight of Love" where he celebrates the joys of dancing.
He continues to perform sold out venues around the world. His
concerts are well known for their party atmosphere where people
stand and dance through most of the concert.
"Whenever I am
composing a song, I try to create music that will touch the younger
generation. Music should be young and uplifting." says Shamaizadeh.
